Next Gen Coaching & Mentoring

Vital to a successful evolution of family business and family wealth

Ensuring successful wealth transfer or successful succession of the family business is important to many families. Over the years I have observed how vital is careful preparation in the development of the next generation. Without it the next generation can feel unready to deal with the challenges and responsibilities before them.

“…It was working with Dr Lami that helped me to find my way into the family business. It was not easy and I could not have done it without her coaching.”

Research shows 70% of families fail to sustain their family wealth or family business. It is found that 95% of it is due to breakdown in communication and trust, unprepared heirs, and lack of vision, and only 5% is due to poor financial education.

Therefore, next generation family members personal development and education is an essential part of a long-term plan.  As future owners, they must acquire the financial knowledge and information, as well as develop the emotional intelligence to be responsible stewards of their wealth.

Without careful preparation, next generation family members may feel incapable of handling the responsibilities they face; uncertain or lacking confidence; difficulties in handling effective business or professional communication; unclear about their place in the family system or business; or experiencing feelings of loneliness, confusion, emptiness, stress, sham, or guilty that sets in – and for reasons that most do not understand – are not unusual and are common challenges faced by next gen.

Dr. Lami has worked with many next gen families, preparing them with her coaching, mentoring and personal development programs.
